Barglów Koscielny
Barglów Koscielny, a government owned village, and Barglów Dworny,
a government-owned village and folwark [manorial farmstead], and
Barglów cerkiewny, three adjoining villages in Augustów county,
in the gmina and parish of the same name, on the highway from Rajgród
to Augustów.
In 1827 Barglów Dworny had 31 houses and 158 inhabitants; Barglów
Koscielny had 47 houses and 205 inhabitants. Today Barglów Dworny has 593
inhabitants and 61 houses; Barglów Koscielny has 445 inhabitants and 56
houses. Barglów gmina, with its office in the village of Barglów
Dworny, has a population of 5,255 and an area of 16,338 mórgs. The
gmina court, in district I, and the post office are in the town of
Augustów 12 versts [13 km.] away; Suwalki is 40 versts [43 km.]
away.
The gmina includes: Barglów-Cerkiewny, Barglów-Dworny, Barglów-Koscielny,
Barglówka, Brzozówka, Czerkiesy, Gorstwiny, Jeziorski, Judziki,
Kamionka-Chrustowskich, Kamionka-Dluzewskiego, Kamionka-Niedzwiedzkiego,
Kamionka Nowa, Kamionka Stara, Karta, Kukowo, Labętnik village and
manorial farmstead, Mamarta, Mlynek, Nowiny-barglowskie, Nowiny Stare,
Orany, Piekutowo, Pienki, Pomiany village and manorial farmstead, Popowo,
Próchniewo, Reszki, Rozalin, Rumejki, Solistówka, Sosnowo village and
manorial farmstead, Tobylka village and manorial farmstead, Uscianki,
Wilkowo, Zróbko and Zróbki.
Barglów parish, of Augustów deanery, totals 7,298
faithful. In Barglów Koscielny there is an elementary school. Also being
finished there is a new stone church, built from the parishioners'
contributions for a total of 50,000 silver rubles.
